2020 Chevy Malibu Rear Exterior

Shaking isn't something that you want to experience when you're driving in your car. It's an unexpected feeling, and it indicates that something isn't quite right. While you probably won't be able to tell what's going on right away, you should bring your vehicle into Husker Chevrolet for assistance. Our experienced technicians will know exactly what to look for so you can get back on the road safely.

Engine Inspection

Upon inspecting your engine, we'll determine if your spark plugs function the way they should be. Brand new vehicles are nowhere near needing their spark plugs replaced (this usually occurs around 80,000 miles), so something would have to be wrong with your spark plugs if this was the source of the problem. We will also check the airflow in your engine. Your air filter may need to be changed if this is the reason for the shaking.

Brake Service

Shaking can be caused by brakes that have passed their need for new pads or rotors. Front brakes are usually in need of this service before the rear ones since vehicles use the front brakes to stop. You can expect brake service by 50,000 miles if you haven't already had work done. Your driving habits may require you to bring your vehicle into our dealership before this point. Your annual inspection or your routine oil change appointment is an excellent time for us to check out your brakes to see if they need to be replaced soon.

Wheel Quality

Wheel problems are very likely to cause shaking. You may feel the shaking on the floor of your automobile, but the steering wheel may also shake from wheel issues. We'll take a look at your wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and other interior components to see if anything needs service. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with our service department if you suspect wheel issues since this can also affect your vehicle's overall safety.

Problems with Your Axles

Front and rear axles are utilized on your automobile to connect the wheels that are on each end. You can experience damage to your axles from going off-roading, driving over debris, or being involved in an accident. Watch out for vibrations or shaking during the process of accelerating.

Tire Quality

Your tires are crucial components of your vehicle that helps you stay safe while on the road. We will check to see if they have appropriate air pressure in all four of them, we'll inspect your tires' overall alignment, and we will see if everything is tightened correctly.

If you would like assistance with the shaking that occurs while driving, contact Husker Chevrolet to schedule an appointment with our service department. Our technicians are incredibly knowledgeable, and we'll know exactly what to look for when you let us know shaking is a problem.
