What's New for the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban

There are a few major changes to look forward to when it comes to the Suburban in 2022. First, the exciting 420-horsepower 6.2L V8 engine is now available for the RST, Z71, and Premier models of the Suburban. Second, all but the base model of the Suburban are now equipped with a customizable 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

When it comes to standard features, all 2022 Suburbans are now equipped with front and rear parking sensors, plus automatic high beams.

2022 Suburban Trims & Features

Buyers will have six versions of the Suburban that they can bring home in 2022. The first, known as the LS, comes standard with seating for eight. It comes with tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and much more. The next option is the LT, which has wireless device charging and a hands-free power liftgate.

The RST model has a unique look that includes 22-inch wheels and contrast stitching on the upholstery. Choose the Z71, and the Suburban has off-road-oriented features, including hill descent control and tow hooks. The Premier model is luxurious, adding a premium Bose sound system and front seats that are heated and ventilated. At the top of the list is the High Country, which has an exclusive grille design with bronze accents and a head-up display.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban Horsepower

A 5.3L V8 engine comes standard for the new Suburban, allowing the SUV to create 355-horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Select models are also available with a 6.2L V8 with an output of 420-horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. There is even a turbo 3.0L diesel engine available, which makes 277-horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. All three pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Multiple driver assistance features are found on every new Suburban. The list includes lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision mitigation. Parking sensors and automatic high beams are now standard as well. On higher trim levels, drivers find things like a head-up display and blind-spot monitoring.
