The 2022 Chevy Malibu is motivated by a 1.5-liter engine block. This turbocharged, inline-four powertrain whips out a maximum of 160 horsepower. At tachometer levels between 2,500 and 3,000 RPM, the I-4 powerplant yields 184 pound-feet of torque. When revolving between 2,000 and 5,000 RPM, the 2.0-L turbo powerhouse develops up to 260 lb-ft of torque. This high-output propulsion system whips out a total of 250 hp. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) system is paired with the standard engine. Featuring electronic controls, a nine-speed gearbox is mated to the high-output powerplant.
