What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Express?

Chevrolet has opted to replace the 6.0-liter V8 engine that was an option in previous model years with a newly designed 6.6-liter mill engine largely modeled off the Silverado's powertrain. When you purchase a trim level with the base level V6 engine, you'll get a higher combined weight rating compared to previous model years.

Which Features Are Available for 2021?

There are five different trim levels available for the 2021 Chevrolet Express van. There is the base model Commercial Cutaway. You move up to include the Cargo Van 2500 trim, Cargo Van 3500, Passenger Van 2500, and the Passenger Van 3500. All trim levels have features that make this a vehicle that will hold up well for any work you need to get done day in and day out. If you're just looking for something basic with a standard wheelbase of 135 inches, the Cargo Van 2500 is adequate. You can upgrade to the Express 2500 if you're looking for 16-inch steel wheels, upgraded halogen headlamps, and MP3 compatibility. There's even a backup camera for added safety.

Featuring Great Performance

You get plenty of options when it comes to performance if you're considering buying the 2021 Chevrolet Express. If power isn't a big concern and you're happy with whatever is included, you'll get a 4.3-liter V6 engine that provides 276 horsepower and 298 pound-foot of torque. This powertrain comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. If you want more power, you can upgrade to the 6.6-liter V8 engine that provides 401 horsepower and 464 pound-foot of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox. If you're planning on heading out on a lot of jobs that will span across many miles, you may be a fan of the options 2.8-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine with eight-speed automatic transmission. Expect to tow around 7,000 pounds, depending on which engine you have.

2021 Chevrolet Express Safety Features

There are no current crash test results for the 2021 model of the Express, but there are plenty of safety features that you'll appreciate being able to add to your vehicle. This includes blind-spot monitoring technology, lane departure warning technology, and forward-collision warnings.
