What's New For The 2019 Chevy Express?

Around since 1995, the Chevy Express is a full-size van from General Motors aimed at businesses to transport cargo or workers from place to place. The 2019 model year, like most entries throughout the Express's production run, is virtually unchanged; it was last facelifted 16 years ago. There are two models available: the 12- or 15-occupant Passenger Van and the significantly smaller Cargo Van.

What are the Available Trims and Features for 2019?

The 2019 Express Passenger Van offers two trims: LS and LT. Each trim is available as half-ton 2500 and ¾-ton 3500 variants. The 3500 van provides the option of a longer wheelbase for consequently more interior space; it is named the Extended Wheelbase, in comparison with the original, Regular Wheelbase. Available as a lone WT trim, the Cargo Van version is also available in 2500 and 3500 body sizes, with each one split into Regular Wheelbase and Extended Wheelbase. Standard interior features include vinyl seating trim, two-speaker AM/FM stereo with MP3 playback capability, and an auxiliary jack for hooking up portable devices and playing audio files from them.

You can spruce up the van with options such as cloth upholstery, a tilt steering wheel with leather wrapping, a storage bin on the front console, front-seat power adjustability, cruise control, remote keyless entry, remote start, steering wheel-mounted controls, Bluetooth wireless technology for audio streaming and hands-free phone calling, a Wi-Fi hotspot for Internet access at 4G LTE speeds, a USB port, 12 months of GM Commercial Link for a host of vehicle management tools, a single-disc CD player, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, GPS-based navigation, and a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM radio.

2019 Chevy Express Powertrain Options

2019 Chevrolet Express Exterior FrontTypically, the 2019 Chevy Express has a 4.3-liter V6 engine under the hood. It generates 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque, and it is hitched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. If you want more kick, however, you can spring for the flex-fuel 6.0-liter V8 engine with 341 horsepower and 373 lb-ft of torque. Plus, it goes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, rather than the 8-speed. For optimal fuel efficiency, you can go with the 2.8-liter Duramax turbo diesel 4-cylinder engine, which generates 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The turbo diesel engine is also responsible for the maximum conventional trailering ability, which is rated at 9,900 lbs. with the Cargo Van. (On the Passenger Van, such performance is rated at 8,600 lbs.)
