Corvette Racing to Go Global in 2022

Chevrolet will have their hand in the global racing market in 2022, thanks to their Corvette model. The Corvette C8.R race car design is going to be used for the national IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship in the United States. It will travel to the FIA World Endurance Championship, which features roadways in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Finally, the Corvette will be included in the lineup for Le Mans next July.

Chevrolet will be utilizing all of their returning factory drivers for these races. This includes professionals like Nicky Catsburg, Jordan Taylor, Tommy Milner, Nick Tandy, Alexander Sims, and Antonio Garcia. Some of the featured race tracks include the Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Fuji Speedway in Japan, and Monza in Italy.

There are plans to release a new Chevy race car in 2024. We're looking forward to seeing what the Corvette Z06 GT3.R will offer. It's set to have a lightweight aluminum chassis that is similar to what's featured in the Z06 design. The powertrain will include a modified 5.5-liter V8 engine.
