New Corvette Concepts To Inspire the Future of Corvette Design

Although neither of these striking Corvette concept cars will go into production, they offer an exciting preview. The Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo highlight the imagination of Chevrolet's worldwide design team, putting Chevy's storied performance roots front and center.

Corvette CX Concept

Designed as a street-legal supercar, the Corvette CX projects an aggressive look. Its ultra-wide stance and sculpted surfaces demand attention. The most dramatic element is the fighter-jet-style canopy that automatically opens as you come near.

Beneath the body sits an AWD electric setup with four motors. Chevy claims it produces a staggering 2,000 horsepower for blistering acceleration. The lithium-ion battery is mounted low in the chassis to help balance weight, while four-wheel torque vectoring sharpens handling. Another notable innovation is the Corvette CX's Vacuum Fan System, which channels air through the open bodywork to generate extra downforce.

Inside, the Corvette CX places the driver at the center of everything. Premium materials such as forged carbon fiber appear throughout the cabin. A digital windscreen displays real-time performance metrics, and controls are tastefully integrated into the sporty steering wheel to reduce distractions.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a dedicated track car that also appears in the Gran Turismo 7 video game. This mid-engine racer is powered by a twin-turbo V8 rated at 900 horsepower and revs to an astonishing 15,000 rpm. An advanced hybrid setup with three electric motors pushes combined output to 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel keeps performance sustainable.

Because it's strictly a track machine, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo has a bare-bones interior to save weight. Heavily bolstered seats keep occupants firmly in place during high-speed cornering.
