Federal EV Tax Credit

What Should Chevrolet Buyers in Lincoln Know About EV Tax Credits and Incentives?

Federal EV incentives are changing fast. The Clean Vehicle Credit, worth up to $7,500, is set to end on September 30, 2025, unless Congress extends it. The home EV charger credit will expire on June 30, 2026. These programs could help lower your costs—but only if you act before they run out.

How Much Is the Clean Vehicle Credit and Who Qualifies?

The credit is split in two parts:

  • $3,750 if the vehicle meets critical mineral sourcing rules
  • $3,750 if battery components meet U.S. manufacturing standards

Eligibility depends on how and where the vehicle is built. Some models qualify for the full credit, some for a partial amount, and others may not qualify at all.

What Must a Chevrolet EV Meet to Be Eligible?

To qualify, your Chevy EV must:

  • Be brand new at the time of sale
  • Use a battery with at least 7 kWh capacity
  • Be assembled in North America
  • Be made by a qualified manufacturer
  • Stay under $80,000 MSRP for SUVs, trucks, and vans
  • Stay under $55,000 MSRP for cars
  • Have the sale properly reported to the IRS
  • Meet income eligibility requirements

When Do These EV Incentives End?

  • Clean Vehicle Credit ends September 30, 2025
  • Home charger credit ends June 30, 2026

Renewals are uncertain, and current rules may not be extended. Acting soon is the safest way to secure your credit.
